  • I watched this video last year when I first started chess and I was a total noob and I thought "Woah Einstein really is good in all departments" because I wasn't understanding shit at what was happening on the board but after a bit more than a year of intensive practice and 800 elo points gained from my initial 900 ratings I do not find this game "that" good. It's definitely a game that could've happened anywhere in the 1600 to 1900 players pool, the f6 blunder Oppenheimer made is really a common mistake among intermediate players and instantly sealed his fate.

Great video it was fun to (re)watch and actually understand what's happening on the board also it's great to note the great progress I've made because most of the time I just sat there telling myself how stupid I am, how bad I am because I can't manage to meet my expectations and those kinds of throwbacks really are more helpful than any rating points to measure the journey traveled.

Still got my 2000 points goal in mind! I'll do it, eventually.

  • This is a fake game. It goes without saying Einstein would have played the Berlin defense had it been real.

  • I heard this game was actually played by Al Bundy. Don't let this distract you from the the fact that in 1966, Al Bundy scored four touchdowns in a single game while playing for the Polk High School Panthers in the 1966 city championship game versus Andrew Johnson High School, including the game-winning touchdown in the final seconds against his old nemesis, Bubba "Spare Tire" Dixon.

  • I don't know why Albert would make an illegal move, but there's a variant called Atomic on https://lichess.org, and Einstein's ideas were used to make the atomic bomb.
